Items you should bring

  • credit cards
  • foreign currency - for trips going to Switzerland we recommend you bring Swiss Francs - and for those who cannot abide speed limits bring plenty of Euros
  • driving licence for each driver
  • passport for each participant
  • ferry/eurotunnel/air fare tickets
  • health insurance documents (including an EHIC)
  • sun screen
  • sun glasses
  • clothes
  • toiletries
  • water
  • mobile phone and charger
  • camera and film
  • detailed maps (buy your maps online at Stanfords)
  • crash helmet, racing shoes and gloves
  • comfortable driving shoes

FOR YOUR CAR

  • car insurance documents (including Green Card if necessary)
  • vehicle registration documents (the Swiss border patrols pay particular attention to high value vehicles - be prepared)
  • manufacturer’s handbook
  • car breakdown recovery papers and contact numbers (contact The AA or RAC to arrange cover)
  • car cleaning materials and products
  • engine oil
  • engine coolant and screenwash
  • First Aid kit
